This firm was recommended from a family friend; I hired Judy O'Connell who supposedly specializes in divorce to initiate mine after just one year of marriage. After the first meeting, I came away with confidence about the case and my future. I know you're never guaranteed what the end result will be financially, but was reaffirmed after only 1 year of being married "little or no funds would be transferred" given the length of marriage, both in the initial meeting and multiple times afterwards. A very substantial amount was transferred in the end; as well as more than twice the amount in lawyer fees originally estimated to be paid on top of her trying to involve her friend/mediator who I would have also had to pay had I followed her advice, which made me realize I was just an opportunity for her to make more money from. Realizing what was happening and deciding to talk with my ex's family directly, I found the whole thing could've been resolved months earlier with lots of money/emotional stress saved. My final invoice was for a couple emails I did not respond to nor asked for. I also paid for a phone conversation in which I was told ("before she had more information") my ex would actually owe me money (I also did not ask for this and if she didn't have the needed information, why even have it?). I would NOT recommend this firm to anyone looking to initiate a divorce nor anyone going through a divorce.
