I was referred to this firm through someone who personally knows the head attorney, which is the only reason I gave them as much patience and benefit of the doubt as I did. Unfortunately, my intake experience was one of the most frustrating and poorly handled professional experiences I have had. I contacted Mr. Nourmand regarding a potential class/PAGA employment matter and sent an extremely organized, evidence-heavy set of materials from the very beginning. I had already spent months working on the case, gathering documentation, and laying out the issues in detail. This was not a vague story with no support. I essentially handed them a well-documented case on a silver platter. At the time, I already had other firms interested in taking the case on contingency, but because Nourmand came personally recommended, I wanted to see whether they would take it. From there, I was connected with intake. I answered the questions I was asked, but many of them were things that should have been answered by the evidence I had already provided. Still, I cooperated and assumed there was some internal review process happening behind the scenes. That assumption was far too generous. The intake process dragged on for roughly two months. Communication was slow, fragmented, and unimpressive, with long gaps between follow-ups. I was repeatedly asked for information that had already been provided at the very beginning. From my perspective, it felt like the materials were either not forwarded internally, not reviewed, or not handled competently. I obviously cannot know exactly what happened inside the firm, but as a potential client, the result was the same: they appeared to sit on critical evidence for two months while continuing to ask questions that should not have needed to be asked. After two months of waiting, I finally told them I would need to move forward with another firm if I did not receive clarity. Only then did they ask for very specific evidence… evidence I had already sent and they had been sitting on for TWO MONTHS. I resent the materials and made it clear I could not remain in limbo. Even then, I did not receive the basic courtesy of a timely update. No “we are reviewing.” No “please hold off before signing elsewhere.” No meaningful communication at all. So I signed with another law firm. LITERALLY a few hours later, Nourmand finally contacted me and said they would take the case. A few hours too late. That is what makes the experience so frustrating. After two months of delays, scattered communication, and what appeared to be a complete internal breakdown, they suddenly became interested only after I had already moved on. Had they sent even one basic courtesy email letting me know they were actively reviewing the matter, the outcome might have been different. Instead, their silence made it clear that my case was not being treated with any urgency. I cannot speak to the quality of their litigation work because I ultimately did not hire them. What I can say is that their intake process was disorganized, slow, poorly communicated, and incredibly stressful. For a law firm handling serious employment matters, that is not a small issue. Communication is not a luxury. It is the bare minimum. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm.
