My experience with Attorney Dixon and her team was pleasant. I needed an Attorney that would speak on my behalf and advocate my needs in my divorce case to the opposing Attorney as well as the judge; I received this with Attorney Dixon and her team. Going through a divorce isn’t easy for anyone but, if you need someone to fight for you legally, professionally and timely then look no further. The “Breakup Attorney” aka Attorney Dixon is your woman and don’t let her petite size fool you, she packs a powerful punch!

This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with an attorney. Despite paying Brittany Dixon $23,000 for her representation in my divorce case, her lack of professionalism, negligence, and unethical behavior caused me significant financial and emotional harm.

Key Issues with Her Representation:
1. Lack of Communication
• Ms. Dixon rarely responded to my calls, texts, or emails, leaving me in the dark during critical moments of my case.
• On the morning of a court hearing, she sent a text at 4:57 a.m. saying, “Don’t panic, you will see attached,” followed by weeks of ignored messages leading up to that day. This last-minute outreach was not only unprofessional but also demonstrated a complete disregard for her responsibilities to me as her client.
2. Negligence
• Over the duration of my case, she failed to file a single motion on my behalf—something that is fundamental for an attorney handling a high-stakes divorce.
• Despite knowing the judge had a history of bias and unfair rulings, she failed to take any necessary actions to protect my rights or challenge the court’s decisions.
3. Unpreparedness
• At my final hearing, she arrived 30 minutes late and completely unprepared. Her incompetence directly resulted in me losing nearly everything to my ex-wife, including assets and custody agreements that could have been negotiated differently with proper representation.
• It became painfully obvious that Ms. Dixon was a rookie when she had the audacity to ask me to hire another attorney to assist her, claiming my case was too much for her to handle.
4. Unethical Behavior
• After the court awarded me $85,000, Ms. Dixon falsely claimed I owed her an additional $15,000. Without my consent, she placed a claim on my escrow funds, collected the money, and left me struggling to retrieve the remaining balance.
• She also failed to contest a garnishment on these funds, further delaying my ability to access what was legally mine.
• Adding insult to injury, it often felt as though Ms. Dixon was working with my ex-wife and her attorney rather than representing my interests.

Additional Concerns

Ms. Dixon’s behavior throughout my case made it clear that she prioritized her convenience over my well-being. She offered no strategic guidance, no advocacy, and no effort to deliver on the services I paid for. Her negligence and lack of professionalism have had devastating consequences for me financially and emotionally.

Final Thoughts

I cannot overstate how damaging this experience has been. Ms. Dixon’s lack of competence, ethical breaches, and disregard for her client’s needs make her unfit to represent anyone in a court of law.

I will be filing a lawsuit against her and a formal complaint with the Bar Association to ensure her unethical actions are addressed. To anyone seeking a competent, reliable, and trustworthy attorney—look elsewhere. Do not make the same mistake I did.
