Sooo Back in October 2021 my husband passed. Before his passing in September, he had informed me about a life insurance policy he had taken out on himself just in case anything happened to him. So fast foward he passed October 2, 2021. The insurance company agent Timothy Robinson called me and also left a voicemail informing me that he was sending his condolences and informing me about a policy my husband had left for me and my unborn at the time. He informed me that he wanted to help me fill out the paper work so we could get the ball rolling. Once we completed the paper work he informed me that he would call me right back. I thought to myself that that was a little odd but whatever. He called back and informed me there was a mistake made, and that the check would go to my mother in law. Keep in mind the policy had my name as a beneficiary not my mother in law. At the time I was still grieving my husband and didn't really get into why there was a mistake made. As the months with by, it didn't sit well with me knowing that the company had made a mistake. I asked them repeatedly what was the mistake. I was told that my husband didn't make his first premium payment to get the policy started so they canceled the policy. In september of 2022 i received a check from the company for his estate for a total of $113.48. I asked myself why would they send this check back if he never paid his premium. I wrote the company explaining to them the situation. I never got a response. So i had other lawyers to look into it for me. They basically said because we couldn't find the proof that he made the payment that it would be hard to make a case. I thought about just giving up on the whole thing, I could hear my husband voice saying dont give up. So I reached out to another Lawyer Matthew just to get a lil advice from him. He gave me Emily Alcorn's contact and boy am I glad I called her. She was very understanding, she listened to me and she actually cared. Long story short The company agreed to honor my husband's policy. To God be the glory. I would have been ASSED out if it wasn't for Emily and the company standing behind her. Thank you sooo much.
