Fair warning look for a more seasoned attorney. He is now attempting to steal my returnable funds per his agreement form when he withdrew from the case. I mean when your attorney says to "seek a second opinion or represent myself", that's him stepping down. I even sent a letter of acceptance of recusal. He has no issues breaking GA code of conduct. Reminds me of better call Saul. Update: 3/27/2025 sending false invoices for funds after negatives reviews and filing with GA state bar currently under review.

I hired Mr. Abney to handle a landlord-tenant matter, but ultimately had to represent myself after he withdrew without filing a single motion on my behalf. I later submitted a formal grievance to the State Bar of Georgia, including emails and documents showing that he advised me to “get a second opinion or represent yourself,” which I accepted in writing as his withdrawal.

The Bar initially dismissed the complaint, but their conclusion was based on a misinterpretation of the facts — specifically, they claimed I “hired someone else,” which is not supported by any language in my documentation. I have since refiled the grievance, submitting clear evidence of this discrepancy, along with my original materials.
