Unprofessional, Disorganized, and Lacked Advocacy

I hired John B. Jackson for what began as a Divorce by Publication in July 2024, and the experience was a series of costly administrative failures.

Communication Gaps: After paying my initial $500, three months passed without an update. I eventually discovered a critical document had been buried as an unmentioned attachment in an old email thread. When I finally received the paperwork, it was riddled with errors that I had to manually correct.

Procedural Negligence: The firm failed to file paperwork in a timely manner in the first jurisdiction. Despite a judge providing a specific window for due diligence, the firm failed to meet the deadline, resulting in my case being dismissed.

Lack of Advocacy: Attorney Jackson then moved the filing to Carroll County, citing his "relationships" with judges there. However, once the case became contested and the opposing party began calling his office, Mr. Jackson chose to withdraw rather than advocate for me. He explicitly stated he feared being reported to the Bar and left me without representation in the middle of a now-contested proceeding.

In total, I paid $1,500. I only received a partial refund after mentioning legal action, despite the fact that the firm failed to provide the primary service for which they were retained. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for an attorney who is organized and willing to stand by their client and provide quality services.
