I don’t even know where to start, but this firm is truly the best. Joe is amazing — a straightforward advocate, a fighter, and incredibly confident with oratory skills that few attorneys possess. He knows exactly what he’s doing and fights relentlessly for his clients.
I am honestly so grateful for everything he has done and continues to do. Joe is also a great human being — not a cold, heartless attorney — and he truly understands what you are going through. If you’re looking for an attorney who will give you BS and sweet words, he’s not for you. He is a man of action, not just words.
On top of that, his staff is amazing too. His paralegal, Amanda, is extremely knowledgeable and competent and took excellent care of my case.
I usually don’t write reviews in advance, but this man and his entire staff are a blessing, and I wish more professionals were like them. He is a 10 out of 10.

I was referred to Joseph Kellener by another law firm who thought my complex case would best be served by him and Dignity Law. After a conference call with the attorneys from both firms, Joseph agreed to take my case. I was dealing with an unscrupulous management company who had taken over our building in South Redondo Beach from a private owner who could no longer manage his property. I was living with toxic mold that was not removed and damaged walls and floors from pipe breaks that were repaired, but the floor and walls weren't. During covid, they attempted to evict me even though I had a legal lease. A different attorney got the eviction attempt dismissed, however, this management company began to bully me as they wanted me out of the property. Despite always paying my rent on time. I ended up getting the County health department involved as well as the City and needed an attorney as well. Joseph went above and beyond to help me get testing and negotiated a temporary move out so that repairs could be made and the mold eradicated. It was not done properly, and the management company refused to do anything further. Myself and my cats ended up getting sick from the mold. Had the property retested after repairs, and it was even worse than we realized. We were able to go to mediation and negotiate a settlement so that I could move. I wish the settlement had been bigger but due to health issues and the costs associated with going to trial and the possibility that if I got a settlement that the management company didn't like that they would appeal it, I took the settlement and moved. Joseph knows what he's doing. This firm is incredibly busy. They really need to add another lawyer or two to handle all the cases that are out there that could use their help. They do fight for you. Joseph was honest to a fault and warned me when we went into mediation which of course was not binding, that neither side is rarely happy with the result if it ends up settling in mediation. He was right. However he got the job done. I've referred him to other tenants in the building who are having similar issues. Because they're so busy, it does require a little bit of due diligence to follow up with them and stay on top of things, which some people have a problem with. If you're one of those, then this is not the law firm for you. But they do get the job done. I'm grateful I didn't end up going to trial even though I probably would have gotten a better settlement. I couldn't handle any more stress or remained in a literally toxic apartment that was making me ill.

My name is valerie Hathorn and I just applied for help for my tenant law inhabitable condition case three days ago where I had a consultation but yet they have me in the system June 2024 and I talked to them November 2025. It’s very concerning so basically I’ve just wasted my time talking to someone and they’re asking me who it was. They should know who it was! I’m getting this message to call for a consultation I’m starting to realize that the main reason why cases don’t get taken sometime is because how the legal aid relays information and I’m starting to learn that having a lot to do with whether your case is taken or not taken when you have equipped legal aids that attorneys pay little to nothing to come in And work the phones that could be a life in death situation for a case And if I haven’t learned anything else about looking for a lawyer, if you have an incompetent legal age and no one is on the same page everybody’s disorganized and they’re running the whole law office not the lawyer. That is the main reason why your case gets ignored. And fall through the cracks.
