What I thought was someone helping me, apparently wasn’t. After being in an abusive relationship the property was somewhat damaged from my ex and I guess I accept responsibility for that. The damage costs should not have exceeded $500 other than the window (which I’ll get to next) ,and I would have thought the $600 security deposit would cover the cost. The tree outside was old fell during a storm and broke the bay window, he didn’t believe me and got away with it in court and charged me for it. He didn’t fix the window until after we left (about a year later), we lived in that apartment with a broken window all winter and no help came. He told me I had to fix it. When winter came and I fell behind we decided to leave. I gave notice and left and told him the day we were leaving I was gone. The apartment itself was literally a swamp. It was and probably should be condemned. Anyway he got a money judgment for almost $5000 because he charged me for 3 months rent after I moved out and lied to the courts and said I was still living there. So all in all don’t rent from this man, I have heard from multiple legal representatives and court representatives around town since this that he is a slum lord. Hope you can see him for who he is before it’s too late like me. Now I’m $4000 in debt and no one will rent to me.
