MY STORY: I am an attorney (top of my AM25 law school class, editor of Law Review and worked at one of the largest corporate law firms in the world.) As a result, I was VERY discerning about who I would hire to represent me in a complicated rent stabilization case with a messy backstory. * They mention that Meryl was confident in her legal knowledge. That's exactly why so many clients trust her. She knows the law inside and out, and she doesn't sugarcoat it. She gives you her expert opinion based on experience and not false hope.
* They were frustrated when the case was passed to other attorneys. That's what firms do, especially with complex, multi-year cases. Meryl runs a busy practice and delegates to a team, as any seasoned litigator and law firm partner must. It's not a flaw. It's how high-performing legal teams operate.
* They were upset that Meryl wasn't always personally available. I get it. But emergencies happen, and jury duty isn't optional. What matters is whether the firm continued representing the client and made a good-faith effort to advocate for them. There's no indication Meryl abandoned the case, only that life happened and the client felt frustrated.
* They claim to have negotiated a better outcome on their own. Great, but that also suggests the client had some agency, which contradicts the idea they were helplessly "ruined" by the firm. Settlement outcomes are messy, and no attorney can guarantee a win, especially in NYC housing court.

At the end of the day, litigation is hard. Landlord-tenant disputes are emotional and draining. So, if you want an attorney who knows how to navigate the system, who's confident under pressure, and who won't back down from a fight, you want Meryl to represent you.
