Vinh Doan Law Office – Estate Planning/Living Trust

My experience with Vinh Doan Law Office has been different from that of other clients. Unfortunately, I do not believe the quality of service I received justified the high legal fees I paid. I hired the firm to reinstate my living trust, correct the trust name on my property grant deeds, arrange for the corrected deeds to be recorded, and ensure that the original recorded documents would be returned to me. The firm emailed me copies of all four grant deeds. However, I discovered that one of the deeds contained an incorrect mailing address. Although the firm explained that the County Recorder’s Office, rather than the law firm, would mail the original recorded documents directly to me, I have received only one of the four originals. I contacted the firm numerous times to resolve these issues, but most of my calls went unanswered. Eventually, I spoke with Kien twice. During our first conversation, he was unwilling to assist me. Later, he asked me to text him the details so he could discuss the matter with the attorney. I followed his instructions, but I never received a response or any further updates. To date, the firm has not confirmed whether the incorrect mailing address has been corrected or provided me with any documentation showing that a correction was made. I also have not received the remaining three original recorded deeds. Although the firm explained that the County was responsible for mailing the originals, I have not received any confirmation that the firm properly arranged for their return or followed up with the County to investigate the missing documents. Considering the substantial legal fees I paid, I expected better attention to detail, communication, follow-through, and accountability. I understand that the County handles the mailing of recorded documents, but I believe the law firm should take reasonable responsibility for helping resolve problems related to the services it was hired to perform. I am disappointed that these issues remain unresolved despite my repeated attempts to seek assistance. In my opinion, the firm has not provided the level of professional service, responsiveness, and responsibility that I expected for the fees charged.
