DO NOT USE MICHAEL - HE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT DO ANYTHING. I hired him for a case over a year ago and it is still not resolved. I've now spoken with other attorneys for advice and they all said this should have already been handled. Michael just keeps pushing this court hearing back and does not communicate at all. Save your money and go somewhere else

I called Mr. Guisti to see if he might be able to help with a legal matter that is admittedly a little convoluted, because one case overlaps with another. I started the call by trying to be respectful of his time. I asked if it was a good time to speak and explained that the situation was a bit complicated. His first response was that he's been doing this for 20+ years and that “no case is too convoluted,” which sounded confident enough, so I began explaining. Right off the bat he repeatedly interrupted me and seemed to assume what I was asking for before I even had a chance to explain the actual charges or what I needed help with. At one point after being interrupted multiple times I politely clarified that I thought he was assuming I was calling about restoring firearm rights, which was not the purpose of my call. I was never rude, never raised my voice, and genuinely tried to explain the facts as clearly and concisely as I could. After cutting me off multiple times, he told me he was not interested in the case, said he had been doing this for over 20 years and was picky about the cases he takes. Fair enough - every attorney has that right. But then he said, “You and I don’t have chemistry. You frustrate the hell out of me. Have a good day,” and hung up on me. I was honestly stunned. I have spoken with many attorneys over the years in different contexts - civil, criminal, family, and professional matters - and I understand that attorneys are busy and that their time matters. That is exactly why I opened the call the way I did. I am also a professional myself and have spent years working as a consultant taking intake calls, consultation calls, and calls from prospective clients. I cannot imagine, in a hundred years, telling a prospective client that they “frustrate the hell out of me” or that we “don’t have chemistry,” especially after repeatedly interrupting them before they could even lay out the basic facts. Maybe Mr. Guisti would be less frustrated if he focused more on listening and less on cutting people off. If you are going to handle your own intake calls as an attorney, listening is part of the job. People call attorneys because they need help making sense of stressful, complicated situations. They should at least be allowed to explain what they are calling about before being dismissed or insulted. I would have had no issue with him simply saying, “I don’t think I’m the right fit for this case.” That would have been completely understandable. But insulting a potential client and hanging up on them is unprofessional and unnecessary. Based on my experience, I would not recommend him.

Attorney Michael Guisti helped vacate my convictions. He knew exactly how to handle my case and treated me not as a case number but as an actual person. He always takes my calls, no matter the time. I strongly recommend Michael Guisti

I called to get some information regarding predatory lending when his entire website depicts, that’s what he deals with, but he said he didn’t know what I was talking about, Cut me off mid sentence by saying “no” and hung up rudely. If he’s this way, in the first minute of talking to him, I can only imagine if I had him defending me.
