I was incredibly disappointed in the services I received. They barely communicated at all with me other than to say, "it's going to take more time". They continued to charge me up to $1300 a month even though we were just waiting for paperwork to be mailed. Almost 4 months went by and not even a single document had been filed and at that point I had spent over $7,000.

I informed them I'd be closing the case because of the loss of confidence. I asked for information regarding the future financials and case file and they've ignored me for almost two months, zero communication.

I was charged $150.OO for consultation. I received a call from a woman, I didn't expect a lawyer. That woman that called was attempting to scare me into thinking I had to secure them to represent me. That I had to have a lawyer. North Carolina has some of the straightest laws when it comes to divorce compared to other states. She was more like a salesperson. She wouldn't give me clear answers on my questions. I ended the call after 15 mins. Worst $150.00 I ever spent. She quoted me at $7500 for their firm to represent me in an uncontested divorce. That's outrageous! Alot of divorce lawyers ask for retainer upfront, they put in escrow. They bill you by the hour. If they go over your retainer they'll bill you more. Some lawyers drag the negotiations along, so they can charge more. I was negotiating with a firm for over 7 months, they threatened to sue me etc. We came to an agreement, when they sent agreement it was missing important things we agreed upon, like child support. I declined, and they still haven't sued. I think their tactic is to bill their client more, the longer it goes the more you pay. I'm filing, due to their procrastinating. Do not be intimidated by lawyers, don't be afraid to represent yourself. The facts are facts, and once again North Carolina has straight forward ways of handling divorces. Do your research, get a couple consultations. Even when you go to court, some lawyers you can pay by the hour and they'll help you, in what to say in court, how to respond etc. Good luck
