My experience with this firm was beyond disappointing—it was deeply discouraging. I came to this firm during one of the most stressful and vulnerable times of my life. As a parent fighting to protect my custody rights, I wasn't just hiring legal representation—I was placing my trust in people I believed would advocate for me. My initial consultation with Attorney Alicen gave me hope. She made my case seem straightforward, explained the process clearly, and left me feeling confident that I was in good hands. I agreed to move forward with filing a motion to modify my custody agreement. I was told the quoted fee was an estimate, that I would receive updates on my account, and that I would be notified before my retainer dropped below the required minimum so I could keep it funded. I was also told the firm would send a letter of representation, attempt to resolve the matter, and, if necessary, file the motion with the court. I understood there could be additional costs later depending on litigation, but I was repeatedly assured I would be kept informed. Instead, within seven days, my entire retainer was exhausted, and I was immediately asked for more money. There was no explanation of what had been accomplished, no update on my case, and no discussion about next steps. I had to request an itemized invoice just to understand where my money had gone. Every question I asked was redirected to the billing department instead of being answered by the people responsible for my case. Reviewing the invoice only made things more frustrating. I saw multiple charges for different staff members reviewing the same email exchange I had provided. My only real conversation with my attorney lasted about 23 minutes. After that, communication essentially stopped. I tried reaching the office manager after being told multiple times to call whenever I needed anything. My calls went unanswered, my concerns were ignored, and I was left feeling like asking reasonable questions had made me a problem instead of a client. From my perspective, the firm sent a letter of representation and then nothing meaningful happened. While I waited for guidance, the opposing party was able to file against me in court. I was left completely in the dark, wondering what—if anything—was being done on my behalf. The most painful part of this experience wasn't the money. It was feeling abandoned at a time when I needed an advocate the most. I wasn't looking for constant phone calls or unrealistic promises. I simply wanted communication, honesty, and the confidence that someone was actively protecting my interests. Instead, I felt dismissed, forgotten, and alone. Walking away, I don't just feel like I lost money. I feel like I lost precious time in an important custody matter and placed my trust in the wrong people. That is a feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone facing a difficult family law case. The only person who made me feel heard by the end of this experience was Stephanie. She was professional, compassionate, and the only member of the firm who genuinely seemed to care about helping me.
