Mr. Urbatsch is extremely knowledgeable, and I believe he drafted an excellent special needs trust for my family. My experience after the trust was completed, however, was disappointing. When I later had questions about funding and administering the trust, I waited weeks for a response despite multiple follow-up contacts with the office. When I finally heard back, Mr. Urbatsch explained: "As you know, our representation concluded some time ago, and our primary obligation is to our current clients whose matters require our ongoing attention. While I am happy to answer occasional questions as a courtesy, please understand that responses to non-client inquiries will be addressed as our schedule permits." I understood that explanation and accepted that I was no longer an active client. Because I anticipated needing occasional guidance over the years, I contacted the office manager to ask whether there was a way to establish an ongoing relationship with the firm, such as retaining them for future questions. She told me I could retain them for trust (management/administration?) and said she would get back to me, but I never received a response. Months later, I emailed Mr. Urbatsch directly asking whether there was any way to obtain ongoing support from his firm or, alternatively, whether he could recommend another attorney who provides that type of long-term assistance. I did not receive a response. So now I'm left searching for someone else to pick up where he left off. The trust itself appears to be excellent, but if you are looking for an attorney who will provide ongoing guidance after the trust is established, I would encourage you to ask about those services before hiring the firm. My experience was that I was unable to establish that kind of continuing relationship.
