I was the victim of a crime, when the police wouldn't do anything to help me, I contacted the powell law firm. I wanted to file a lawsuit against a person who stole from me and Mr. Walden told me he would take the case after speaking to me for just a few minutes. He told me to call the office and pay $5000 and that he would file my lawsuit the following week. However, at the end of the next week, he hadnt filed. I emailed him about it and he became combative. He said he didn't want to work with me but kept $2000 of my retainer. That's almost HALF the retainer for the whole suit just for responding to a couple emails over the course of a week.

They probably do this all the time. I paid $5000 to have my suit filed. I signed nothing at all, our agreement was for them to file my suit, so how can they just keep my money? Even I know the law better than that.

Do NOT pay a retainer to this law firm. They can arbitrarily decide they don't want to deal with your suit after youve paid and keep any amount they want.
