Update following Mr. Orange’s response: I am updating my review because his response characterizes both the outcome of my matter and my satisfaction with his representation. I want to clarify my experience without discussing the private details of the matter for which I retained him. I retained Mr. Orange while he was practicing with another law firm. I initially found him confident and reassuring, and that confidence contributed to my decision to trust him. Over time, however, I became concerned that the confidence he projected was not matched by the communication and care I expected. Mr. Orange sent correspondence on my behalf that included a financial demand I had not agreed to or discussed with him beforehand. I was not given an opportunity to review the correspondence before it was sent and learned what had been communicated only afterward. I still do not have a copy of that correspondence, and I believe the way this was handled negatively affected my situation. I also paid for both a consultation and a retainer. Under my agreement, the consultation fee was to be credited toward the retainer. Based on my records, that credit was not applied, and I overpaid after following the payment instructions I was given. Mr. Orange later left the firm and opened his own practice. I was subsequently informed by his former firm that it had no record of my case or payments. Mr. Orange told me he would return the funds to the firm. As of this update, I am not aware that those funds were returned. In his response, Mr. Orange emphasizes that the amount ultimately negotiated was approximately five times the initial offer and characterizes me as satisfied. I want to correct that characterization: I was not satisfied with his representation. My concerns were never simply about the amount. They were about how my matter was handled, the communication I received, and the correspondence sent on my behalf without my prior knowledge or approval. I trusted Mr. Orange because he was practicing with a law firm my family and I trusted. I am sharing my experience so prospective clients can make their own informed decisions. Based solely on my personal experience as his client, I cannot recommend him.
