These guys fired or strongly recommended finding a new firm after violating my HIPPA Rights in a supposed Mediation that I was not given the 10 days to prepare for. It was less than 72 hours notice, and when I appeared on Zoom the coming Monday at 1 PM where Walter Told me how it was going to work after realizing I couldn’t get my microphone didn’t work so he, Walter said that he would do a 3 way call between himself, opposing counsel and myself. I was then told how the Zoom meeting would go without given the opportunity to oppose Walter talking with Jesse Rutter having ex parté communications without Bill but since my microphone wasn’t working and Walter had to push mute every single time but forgot to on the final conversation where Walter said: “Omg this is the worst client I’ve ever had,it’s not even 2 PM and I’m already ready to crack open this bottle of Scotch! Then he said to Jesse Rutter, I don’t think we’re going to get him to work anything out because he probably is brain damaged from the at least three TBI’s, (Traumatic Brain Injuries), especially the one where he was thrown out through the driver’s side window after snapping off a telephone pole, crossing, crashing into a tree head first! Afterwards they ended the conversation with typical “goodbyes” but not before Walter got one more slanderous comment in, saying: I don’t know who I can pass him off to because they’re going to want to kill me!

So when I was sure Jesse had disconnected I quickly said: You might as well start drinking that scotch, because I heard Everything you two said and I will be filing reports with the Maine Bar Association. So S.S.T.L had a different attorney call me and try and get me to sign a paper saying that I wouldn’t sue Walter or the Firm which I refused to do and therefore they waited until after my stepdad grew a pair and finally called to threaten me so I did what the law called 911 and was recommended to file a PFA against him which I did after notifying the new attorney from S.S.T.L’s that I had talked with but never heard back from after refusing to sign the paper saying that I wouldn’t sue the Firm and Walter Foster for malpractice and slander that could have caused the case to be lost.

Their firm has since filed a motion to withdraw as my counsel which I responded to in writing on June 9th, 2026, the day of the PFA hearing because I didn’t want Walter to be able to destroy Any of the records they had but they did anyway because I just got notified by mail that the judge said I didn’t turn the documents in, in writing, within the 20 day deadline, which I did turn a 5 page handwritten statement on June 9th but for some reason it never got to the judge and she awarded the withdrawal of counsel request. Now there’s no record of Walter ever working for Steve Smith’s Law firm except for the emails that I saved from the emails that I saved with his full name and email address! The MBA couldn’t even find it!

Sherry the paralegal here is cold and un empathetic with perspective clients that she feels, don’t have any merit to their case and spent 10 minutes, belittling me and not considering any facts that I brought up to ask why those didn’t make any solid points legally to her. Eventually she pretty much got mad at me at the end of the phone call and blindly enraged stated that they did not want anything to do with my case, that they would not take my case when she could’ve just started the phone call like that Instead of dragging me through just to get her cold un-empathetic perspective on my case. And that is not There’s no chance they would win. But that she has no interest in my case at all and pretty much making me feel like she’s Dumping her judgment all over me also, the call was only 10 minutes I don’t know how standard that is, or her attitude…..

Steve overbilled and was not helpful at all. We accomplished nothing. He met with me while he was in a mediation with another attorney and kept telling me stories about how he shot this cat in front of his church and a SWAT team came to his house and how he was angry at the SWAT team leader and just basically told me tons of stories and didn't help me with my case at all. When I filed a complaint they told me to go pound sand

Steve's attitude and treatment could have been better. I can see he would be a great trial lawyer, but don't treat your client like that. Fee's were 8K. I cancelled the case with Steve's firm to humble him. Had a great additional discovery in my case, handled it myself, and I made one phone call and my case with DHHS was overturned, rightfully so. That simple. I could be wrong but Steve Smith knew about a typo in my pervious submissions to DHHS before I even brought him a copy of my submissions? Granted it was an awkward typo, but how did he know about it? My discoveries and findings would have been an excellent Lawsuit on DHHS and the Social workers making positive changes for families and children. I really thought Steve would be the one to go to. I am sure Steve will know who I am. The medical records auditor for FWA and patient quality improvement programs that's had success protecting families and children against DHHS in multiple cases and multiple states because I am right. I even thought at one small moment to offer my services free to his firm to consult on medical kidnapping cases due to being successful, but I will not be disrespected like that. Please learn from my submissions because I am right! I suspect they are also recording in their conference room so be aware. My employer is non of Steve Smith's business. If Steve Smith wishes to discuss this further he can contact me.
