Facilities and front office staff are great. This review is for commissioner Patty Ratekin. Unclear what personal trauma she hasn't deal with in her life and why she chooses to take it on clients paying her to just mediate. She threatens clients with outlandish possible outcomes, resorts to name calling and ad hominem attacks, bullies clients, and takes the side of the alienator and manipulator every time. Avoid at all costs.

They made a extremely hard emotional day easy. The Mediation judge was very good. She understood our needs and helped us come to an agreement. Only took 12 hours and the judge was calm and professional the whole time. She say the full process through from start to finish. Never gave up on finishing.

5 years - a short term marriage with only 3 simple assets and no children - everyone said my divorce should be simple, fast, and easy….but no one can plan for the emotional component or the blinders we all wear as we enter the family court system. With each passing year my divorce became more and more complex, exponentially emotional, and tremendously expensive. That all changed when Commissioner Patti Ratekin floated into the room - like an angel sent from divorce heaven who was there to pluck me out of the River of Death that flowed beneath the surface of my life since the day I filed for divorce 5years prior. And like an angel, she made it clear she was there to rescue my ex in the same glorious way - and even through all the negative feelings I had for him, she somehow made me feel ok that she was saving us both. She said I wouldn’t feel heard or seen, but I truly did feel she heard us both, felt our pain, understood our reasons. She knew what trial would cost, she shared her experience with the results we could expect if we continued to litigate, and she helped guide us to what was most important - ending the fighting and coming to an agreement. When I got off course, she pulled no punches getting me back in line - in some magical way that no one in the previous 5 years could do. From the start, she worked tirelessly to accomplish the impossible - unwinding the mess caused by 5 years of emotional turmoil while getting two emotional basket cases to agree on, not just one thing, but ALL the things. She was kind when she needed to be, and tough when it was important to be, she connected with us, and pushed when we almost gave up. Finally, after 9 and a half hours, an agreement was signed at 6:30pm. My divorce was over. The River of Death had dried up by the time I stepped out of the elevator to leave the building. Immediately all the colors seemed brighter and the world was full of rainbows and butterflies. I will forever be thankful to Commissioner Ratekin for being the angel who came to save us from ourselves.
