My experience with Marilee started with a very promosing consultation where I felt confident in our strategy. Found the level of service did not align with the premium fee charged. I felt my case was often treated as a low priority (vacationing alot it seems) - for the investment required. I expected a more proactive strategy and individual attention.
The communication process was incredibly difficult. I went weeks without updates and had to send MULTIPLE follow-up emails to receive a response. The stress of the communication gap made the situation even harder. I felt I had "push" the process along myself.
Unfortuately, the actual results fell short of what was initally presented. While I understood that legal outcomes are never guaranteed, I felt there was a disconnect between the optimistic "sales pitch" and the actual effort put into the case.
I would have much prefrred a more honest assessment from the start, even if it was less of what I wanted to hear.
I would recommend asking for a "worst-case scenario" early on to avoid the surprises, and if you dont mind taking a very passive role in your own case, then I would hire her.

Mr. Sercu is hands down the best attorney I could have hoped for, got me through my case with the best outcome and always stayed on top of it from the very beginning. He thinks outside the box and attacks at angles I never would have thought of. Even when consulting with other attorneys at the beginning to find the right one, the second I got on the phone with Mr. Sercu he was the obvious choice, knew what he was talking about and always gave me straight answers and never beat around the bush. If you need a lawyer he is definitely the one to choose cause Mr. Sercu will never be out lawyered.
