I experienced intentional infliction of emotional distress (IIED) last month. My initial response was to heal enough to function. Then I worked on a 135 page document of my experience. Then I needed to heal from the reexposure of creating that document. I've been meaning to reach out to an attorney to discuss the ins and outs of an IIED case but the thought had brought up anxiety. I made myself do it today. I found a few firms that talk about IIED on their websites and after reviewing the sites and the reviews I decided to reach out to Resolvere. I wanted to call and get an appointment so I could cross this task off my list, but the thought of talking to someone about it live was anxiety-inducing, so I put in a request on the site. I gave what felt like a good balance of clear details in the description without being too lengthy. I then waited for a call to set an appointment. Instead I got an email that felt very curt. I realize law firms are businesses and that they have reasons for deciding which cases are worth their time. Perhaps mine isn't. I'm interested in legal action more in holding the business I am suing accountable for what their director did to me and in being able to truthfully relay my story within their industry to help others without worrying as much about retaliation. I don't think I have a million dollar case. But I just had higher expectations based on my research of Resolvere and am leaving this review so people can see another perspective and maybe not feel so stunned if they receive some cold, form letter response after doing another very hard thing like reaching out for help.
