Extremely unprofessional and uncaring firm. Would not recommend.

For some context, I used Atty. Andrew Schafer as my lawyer during my divorce settlement. The experience was just O.K. but I have since come to realize that I was provided with a very “one-size-fits-all” settlement and that I could, and should have, insisted that he tailor the settlement more to my personal situation and that he could have been much more communicative and forthcoming with being completely transparent with the divorce process and all possible options.

I contacted the firm recently for information on representation for a separate legal issue and Atty. Schafer put me in contact with Atty. Lou Federici. I had a phone consultation with Atty. Federici a short time later and attempted to explain my potential case but he repeatedly interrupted me and dismissed my concerns out of hand, seemingly because he was rushing to get off the phone because it was towards the end of the work day. We scheduled a longer phone consultation for a different day, but in the interim, I decided that I would rather work with an attorney who was actively working to understand my perspective and situation as opposed to having to fight to convince someone to at least take my perspective momentarily.

I emailed Atty. Federici thanking him for his time and letting him know that I would be seeking representation with a different law firm. Atty. Federici responded thanking me for letting him know and cc’ed Atty. Schafer on the message, as Atty. Schafer is the one who referred me to Atty. Federici.

Atty. Schafer then proceeded to respond (presumably intending for the message only to go to Atty. Federici, but I was still cc’ed on the message) saying, “We are better off from what you told me.”

Moral of the story: try actually listening to the people you claim to represent and double check your cc line before you send a nasty email. I will not be returning as a client.

My girlfriend has used this law firm and the attorney, Alison Broad , has been nothing but a waste of time for her. Every time she tries to reach out to her to ask questions and help her with stuff she either doesn’t answer her or just blows her off. I have myself also reached out to this Atty to try to speak with her, and she will not respond back to me. Because of this Attorneys inability to help my girlfriend she is nowlosing her house.
