I gave Mr. Moreno 2 stars instead of 1 because I do want to be fair, he is very personable. I liked him during the initial consultation and, for the most part, throughout my divorce.

However, communication was a consistent issue. It often took multiple calls and emails to receive a response, which became frustrating during an already stressful time.

During the divorce, I chose not to pursue additional assets, including the house and furniture, even though Mr. Moreno advised me to go after half of the equity. I appreciated that he respected my wishes in that regard.

My main issue arose after the divorce was finalized. I later discovered I was still listed on the mortgage. After speaking with my mortgage company, I learned that simply having the divorce decree was not enough to remove me. I was then informed that there should have been language in the decree requiring my ex to refinance or sell the home to remove me from the mortgage but that language was missing.

As this was my first divorce, I had no idea this needed to be included. I reached out to Mr. Moreno, and after one conversation where he said he would look into it and call me back, I never heard from him again. After months of trying to follow up with no response, I began contacting other attorneys. Several told me this should have been addressed in the original decree and that my original attorney would need to fix it though some weren’t sure it could be corrected.

With no response from Mr. Moreno, I felt I had no choice but to contact a malpractice attorney. Only after that attorney sent a letter did Mr. Moreno reach out to me. At that point, he became very responsive and worked to resolve the issue. Ultimately, my ex agreed to sell the home.

That said, there were still concerns about professionalism. After one court appearance, Mr. Moreno referred to my ex using inappropriate language, which I found unprofessional, regardless of the circumstances.

Overall, due to the lack of communication early on and the significant oversight regarding the mortgage in my divorce decree, I would not recommend Mr. Moreno. Even if he did not draft the decree himself, as my attorney, I believe he should have caught such an important omission especially since the mortgage was included in my initial paperwork.

I have tried to contact Moreno Law LLC more than once and left voicemails about getting joint custody. No one from Moreno Law LLC has answered the calls or returned my calls. This truly shows how much you care about helping family's and children.

I cannot thank Anthony Moreno enough for the exceptional legal representation he provided during one of the most challenging times in my life.
