From initial onset, Lexi R. Hottle and the staff of Meshbesher & Spence are not a firm I would support or recommend. The interactions I have had with this firm have left a very unsatisfactory feeling with me. There was and is a lack of professional accountability on various levels of interaction. On June 25th, I initially called to gain representation for a Work Comp injury. The only person I spoke with was Lexi, who never provided her contact information; all I knew her first name (no email or callback phone number). After an extensive time of gathering my personal information, I was told I would receive a decision shortly. Well, "shortly" never came. After weeks of not hearing anything, I called the office to have a callback message left; my Friday afternoon phone call was never returned! Now mid-July, a third call to the office and I am getting beyond frustrated! I tell the receptionist, Terina, it has been weeks with no response from anyone at your office. I say I'm not sure who to talk to since the only person I've talked with is Lexi. Terina makes a rude and unprofessional comment that maybe in the future I should write down details, like who I speak with. This made me upset and I insisted on speaking with someone immediately. I was told she would send out a blanket email message to see who spoke with me and ask them to call back right away. That never happened. I was never able to speak with anyone. Terina would not even transfer me into Lexi's voice mail to leave a message. My patience is now gone. A week later, I get a letter mailed to my home stating that the firm verified it was Lexi I was speaking with on the dates I gave, but they are not going to represent me. This denial letter was/is the FIRST and ONLY communication I have EVER received from the firm! Lexi claims she sent emails that I never responded to. Well, I cannot respond to something I do not get. Lexi has a typo not only in my last name, but also my email. On the letter and envelope, my name is misspelled in three separate instances. On the sworn Affidavit of Service, Lexi stated she sent me communication via email. This is a lie! I never received any communication prior, due to her errors. Is this a sign at the accuracy and overall job performance of the firm? I feel this is a lack of professionalism that a simple phone call could have corrected. As a professional business and using a little common sense, I would think that if you send someone something they never respond to, you would simply pick up the phone and follow-up. After posting this, I did get a phone call from Gus Nicklow wanting to get more information on my concerns (and to remove/modify this post). He claims that they take posts seriously and want to try and make things right. As I shared on the phone today, to make this right, there needs to be sincere written apologies provided to me by both people involved. Everything else has been in written format, this can be as well. Staff may have finally called me back to half-heartly say "sorry" for what happened, but NOONE took personal ownership and responsibility for how they treated me as a person. From my experiences, unless you want unprofessionalism, headaches, runaround and wasted time, DO NOT contact or utilize the services of Meshbesher & Spence!
