Law Offices of Willie D Powells III and Associates, PLLC

I hired Mr. Powell's firm three years ago following a car accident. My case was settled approximately a year and a half ago, and I was informed last year that the only remaining step was Mr. Powell's final approval before my settlement funds could be released.

Unfortunately, as of today, I have still not received my settlement payment. Over the past year, I have made numerous attempts to obtain an update by phone and email. When I call the office, I am typically told that my message will be marked as urgent and that someone will contact me, but I never receive a response. My emails have also gone unanswered.

This experience has been extremely frustrating and stressful. The lack of communication has left me with more questions than answers, and I am disappointed by how this matter has been handled. Based on other reviews, it appears I am not the only client experiencing these issues.

I understand that legal matters can take time, but clear communication and timely updates should be a priority. At this point, I am simply looking for answers and resolution regarding my settlement.

I did some contract work for this firm and they did not pay me. I have reached out many times, and they will not return calls or even an email.
I would be careful about retaining them as counsel if they can't even pay their bills. Very shady.

Do not (I repeat) DO NOT use this law firm. I was involved in an accident over a year ago and the communication with this lawyer and staff is ridiculous!!! I had to email them numerous times just to get an update on my case. I went months with no phone calls, email, nothing!!! It got so bad that I had to switch lawyers and they informed me that This law firm hadn't even filed my case federally. Do not use this company and do not be fooled by the "5 star" reviews. Most of them are done by the employees.

Avoid this lawyer at all costs. He's too busy showing off his home on the internet instead of handling his cases. Our daughter was seriously injured at a water park on her birthday on June of 2022. Just to get somebody to communicate with us is horrible. Back in July of 2024 we were told that we would get a phone call on August 22nd 2024 explaining our next steps because it needed to go before arbitrary. It is now November 27th of 2025. And we haven't even received the phone call. We have called over 40 times in 3.5 years Almost everytime we call no one is available to talk with us about our concerns. This has been so frustrating. We decided to use this law firm because we wanted to be represented by people who look like us and continue to support black businesses. However, we have come to the understanding that was the wrong decision. So do your homework before considering this firm anyone can create burner accounts and create great reviews.

I recently (3 months ago) left a raving Google review about the Willie D. Powells III and Associates and how they got me a great settlement. Was told it could take up to 90 days to settle the case and receive my settlement. They take forever to respond to emails once they have received funds from the insurance company. When you call, they are "unavailable" to take your call. I am regretting the decision to trust this law firm with my case. I will NEVER work with them again if this is how they do their clients!
