He was never my lawyer. I worked with many high profile lawyers in Los Angeles 25 years ago. My significant other and I still talk about his courtroom performance in the John Gordon Jones case. I worked for the defense and that guy was as obviously guilty as any criminal defendant I've ever seen. Yet Milt Grimes got him acquitted with nothing more than the use of a deflated soccer ball (the "truth ball" he called it) and some other very memorable courtroom antics (like asking a witness how far away she was .... and walking right out of the courtroom door to illustrate distance). We both attended trial and were talking about this tonight. So I looked Milt up and he 80 and in prison in Lompoc for income tax evasion. Sad to see this as he may just be the most talented lawyer I've ever seen in action. Quarter decade later and still talking about him over dinner.
