I would warn anybody who is interested in hiring Mr. Matz as their attorney for being their Family Attorney or Estate Planning.
With my experience dealing with Mr. Matz, he is unprofessional and has a major attitude problem.
Mr. Matz was my Dad’s attorney for 4 years. In the beginning when my dad had request to change his will or needed advice,

Mr. Matz was always available. Unfortunately things changed when 2 years ago my brother and sister started taking advantage of my dad. I emailed and called and left various message letting him know that my Dad wanted to speak to him to see if he could speak to my brother and sister and warn them of the consequences if they continued to take advantage of him. Mr. Matz ignored my dad and when I called and emailed him about my dad’s request, he called my Dad and criticized me saying that

I was the problem and even threatened to report me to the department of ageing. Another concern was when my dad wanted to make changes to his will to remove family members that were taking advantage of him, Mr. Matz refused to do it, and ignore my Dad with this request for 2 years.
When we questioned him on his actions, he always responded with an attitude and unprofessional manner. He claimed that he was always busy but that’s no excuse in someone’s time of need.

He eventually made a surprise visit to my dad and told him that he no longer was going to work with him since he felt that my dad was asking for a lot.

This was ridiculous since this was not the case. Mr. Matz just did not want to do his job again displaying is unprofessionalism.

No one should go through what my family went through. You can do better than this attorney.

My mother recently died and I needed an attorney to help settle the estate. Her accountant recommended this guy. Since I knew no other estate lawyers in the Lehigh Valley, I thought I'd give him a shot. I had an initial telephone consult with him and we scheduled an appointment for the end of the month. I arranged to have pertinent documents delivered to his office prior to our meeting. Since the meeting wasn't for a few weeks (which was not opportune however I live out of state), I reached out to him via email with several questions. I even offered to pay him for his time to answer two questions each of which only involved a one word answer. Both questions also required timely responses --not something that could wait until the end of the month. In my email I both offered to pay him for his time OR offered to send a retainer both of which are beyond reasonable and fair. I deal with a lot of attorneys. When I hadn't heard from him I called his office and spoke to his secretary asking her if she could please ask him to reply to my emails. He had just been ignoring them. Later that day I got a "dust off" email from him excoriating me for reaching out to his office prior to my appointment and basically kicking me to the curb. I replied with sincere apologies for being so brazen and asked him to reconsider. I also mentioned that one return email to me asking me to wait until our meeting would have been the proper thing to do. I would then have never fired off any more questions. I really don't know how to react to radio silence from a professional I am employing. He refused to help. Truth is, I am grieving a number of severe losses at the moment and I can barely think straight. Scolding and dumping a "client" who is in desperate need of support goes way beyond LOW in my opinion and is very unprofessional. It's like a psychiatrist scolding a client for being psychotic. Ridiculous. Done and dusted with you, Esquire. You should be ashamed of yourself and your behavior.
