Strong Champion Who Cares About Children

Leona Goldshaw represented our son as an educational attorney. As background, our son has autism and medical conditions as well. He engages in self-harm and his IEP stated he should not be left alone. However, the school left him alone multiple times and he did injure himself. He also stayed in the hospital for two lengthy stays. I had hired multiple educational advocates to assist over this time period. But I did not get the help we needed. I was terrified to send him to school. We felt bullied and we felt our son was not being treated with dignity by so many people. If you have a special needs child, I think you understand this. Methodical, persistent and fierce!

Leona has my family's gratitude forever. She helped us obtain appropriate placement for our 14 year old son with very significant learning and social-emotional struggles. Leona helped us understand our strange and non-intuitive system of legal redress. Our district excels at denial and stonewalling and Leona was persistent, careful, methodical, and very fierce when it counted! She knew where our leverage was and won the necessary concessions. Not to mention getting the district to pay us back legal and some other expenses in this struggle for reasonable accomodations. We couldn't be more pleased!
