I highly recommend Joshua Black. He helped me successfully negotiate the revocation of a garden leave provision in my contract. He was empathetic, clear, responsive, and very approachable throughout the process. Most importantly, his deep knowledge of employment law and helped me with my negotiation and I achieved exactly the outcome I needed. I’m extremely grateful for his guidance and support

I’m leaving this review in 2026 because, looking back, my experience with Joshua Black’s office was extremely disappointing… In 2022-2023, I suffered a workers comp injury that completely turned my life upside down. Because of my injury, I couldn’t work, and I couldn’t collect unemployment because I was unable to work due to the injury. After one of the hardest years of my life, losing my income and struggling to keep everything together, I was desperately looking for help. I came across Joshua Blacks office, and after explaining my situation, I was told my only option was to send a demand letter. I paid $3,100 for that letter, hoping it would finally get my former employer to take the situation seriously. They completely ignored it. After that, I was basically told there was nothing more that could be done because they weren’t responding, and I felt like I had hit a dead end after spending thousands of dollars… A few months later, I decided to explore other options. Another law office took my case for roughly one third of what I had paid Joshua Black’s office AFTER I WON and was actually able to help me get the outcome and assistance I had been looking for without a letter lol… I understand every case is different, but based on my personal experience, I strongly recommend searching elsewhere before paying thousands of dollars for a demand letter. I wish I had done more research before spending $3,100 when I was already in one of the most difficult financial situations of my life. Finally back on my feet however felt completely taken advantage of by the cost and experience. It was a mission in itself to get him and his manager to respond.

Joshua Black charged me $5000 for 90 days of legal services without confirming any service has been performed except for a demand letter draft - of which I authored because his did not align with anything I told him and was riddled with typos and grammatical errors. I was referred to the law offices of Joshua Black by the Maricopa bar, and made the mistake of not reading his reviews. It was very evident from his first demand letter draft that he did not listen or take notes about my situation, nor did he review any of the information or evidence that I provided him regarding my case. NO COMMUNICATION regarding any kind of update occurred unless I reached out to his office multiple times via emails and phone calls. There was no verification, proof, or receipt that my demand letter was ever accepted by my opposition nor was there any proof they made contact with opposing counsel. The law office of Joshua Black provided no proof or receipt of when they mailed out the demand letter either, which is unacceptable. I have no idea if it was sent out in a timely manner or not. For $5000, I expected my demand letter to have been mailed-out certified and overnight, but I have no idea, because they provided me absolutely no receipts or proof of any work that they have claimed to have done. On July 8, 2026, the law office of Joshua Black claimed that opposing counsel confirmed receipt of my demand letter and that the opposing counsel indicated that they were actively reviewing it, and that they would reach back out with their formal response. However, opposing counsel NEVER RESPONDED. On July 23, 2026, the law office of Joshua Black claimed that opposing counsel had reached out to the law office of Joshua Black, indicating they would have availability to speak with Mr. Black in the last week of July or even possibly August 1, 2026 at the latest. I have called the three different numbers from the law office of Joshua Black several times, left voicemails several times, and emailed several times since July 23. 2 weeks later, I still have not received any form of communication from the law office of Joshua Black and it appears that 90-day service has expired and they have nothing to show for it - and I was ghosted. I have worked with dozens of attorneys over the years and have never experienced worse service then what was provided by the law office of Joshua Black.
