I cannot recommend attorney James Davis highly enough. I hired Mr. Davis after what was truly one of the most stressful and frightening situations I have ever experienced. I went to the Duval County courthouse downtown to file paperwork related to my divorce and, without realizing it, had forgotten that my concealed firearm was still inside a compartment of my bag. I have no criminal record and had maintained my concealed weapons permit, but an honest mistake suddenly turned into a criminal case with the possibility of jail time. I was terrified that one mistake could have such serious consequences for my life and record. From the beginning, Mr. Davis put my mind at ease. He was straightforward and matter-of-fact about my case without making promises he couldn’t keep. Everything he explained to me about the process and what he believed he could accomplish ultimately proved accurate. I never spent a day in jail. I never even had to appear in court myself because Mr. Davis handled my court appearances for me. Ultimately, my case was resolved favorably through an intervention program and a small fine, rather than something that would turn an honest mistake into something that followed me for the rest of my life. Just as importantly, I never felt left in the dark. Mr. Davis and his secretary, Anna, were excellent about communicating with me throughout the entire process. I received updates and notices regarding what happened in court, what came next, and anything I needed to know. Having that level of communication made an incredibly stressful situation much easier to get through. Mr. Davis was professional, kind, knowledgeable, reassuring, and direct. I felt that I was in capable hands from beginning to end, and the outcome speaks for itself. I highly, highly recommend James Davis to anyone who needs an attorney for a criminal matter.
