I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. This was, without question, the worst $2,500 I have ever spent. The biggest issue was the quality of the paperwork. My immigration forms were prepared incorrectly. Several questions on my Form I-485 were left completely blank, and other information was copied over incorrectly. During my USCIS interview, the officer had to print out the application and ask me to complete the missing sections on the spot. Fortunately, my interviewing officer was extremely kind, patient, and understanding. Had I been assigned a less accommodating officer, these mistakes could have caused serious problems for my case. Throughout the process, I repeatedly asked the attorney how to answer potential interview questions. Instead of providing guidance, I was told that those questions would only be answered if I paid an additional $2,000 for the attorney to attend my interview. Every time I asked for advice, the response was essentially, “Pay me to attend the interview.” What made this worse was that I had already paid $2,500 in legal fees, including $500 that I was led to believe covered interview representation. When my interview was scheduled, I was told that the previous payment did not include attending the interview and that I would need to pay an additional $2,000. The $500 was never refunded. To pressure me into paying more, I was repeatedly told that immigration interviews are now extremely scrutinized, can last up to 10 hours, and that I could get into serious trouble without legal representation. Looking back, this felt more like a sales tactic than genuine legal advice. I ultimately declined to hire the attorney for the interview. Ironically, my USCIS interview lasted only about 20–25 minutes. The officer was professional, respectful, and far more helpful than my own attorney. I also found myself correcting the attorney on multiple occasions. For example, when I asked questions about Form I-693, I was given incorrect information. After doing my own research and showing the official USCIS guidance, the attorney acknowledged that I was right. Unfortunately, this happened more than once. I reached a point where I no longer trusted the legal advice I was receiving and instead relied on my own research using official USCIS resources. As the interview approached, I personally organized all of my supporting documents, prepared for every interview question, and reviewed my entire case myself. I even asked the attorney to simply review my interview package to make sure everything was organized correctly. The response I received was, “Brother, you’re very knowledgeable. You don’t need me to review it.” No guidance was provided. In the end, I felt like I paid thousands of dollars for paperwork that contained significant errors, received very little meaningful legal guidance, and was pressured to spend even more money when I needed help the most. If you’re considering this office, I strongly encourage you to do your research. My experience was that I had to prepare my own case, correct my attorney’s mistakes, rely on my own legal research, and hope that a kind USCIS officer would overlook errors that should never have been made in the first place. I cannot recommend this law office based on my experience. Save yourself the money and find an attorney who is thorough, responsive, and genuinely advocates for their clients.
