I was referred to Douglas Earl through the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Attorney Referral Program after paying the $35 fee. After briefly describing my case, he quoted a $3,000 retainer to discuss it in more detail. When I politely explained that I’d been taken advantage of by a previous attorney and simply wanted to understand what the fees would cover, his demeanor changed completely. He said he didn’t want to work with me because he “can’t control what other attorneys have done,” interrupted me multiple times when I tried to clarify that I wasn’t accusing him of anything, and then told an unrelated story about helping two neighbors for $3,000 before hanging up on me without saying goodbye.
I would strongly recommend avoiding this attorney. The interaction was unprofessional and left me feeling dismissed for simply asking basic questions about fees.
