Avoid Hiring Angie Trout – Unethical and Ineffective Legal Representation
I strongly advise against hiring Angie Trout based on my experience with her legal services. She misrepresented her capabilities, initially assuring me that she could help me obtain full custody of my children, only to later contradict herself, stating that it was not legally possible due to my existing 50/50 custody arrangement.
Her legal representation was negligent and unprofessional—her involvement was limited to administrative paperwork that I could have completed myself. Rather than acting as a competent advocate, she prioritized self-promotion over effective legal strategy, offering little to no substantive legal assistance.
In court, her conduct was inappropriate and unprofessional. She engaged in undue familiarity with my ex, an individual with a history of emotional dysregulation and manipulative behaviors, yet she made dismissive remarks about how he was a “good guy.” By failing to recognize and address power imbalances in the case, she compromised my legal representation and created an unsafe advocacy environment.
She also engaged in demeaning behavior, instructing me to carry her purse across the courtroom in front of opposing counsel and my ex, an action that appeared intended to undermine my credibility and dignity. When my ex was late to court, I requested that we proceed, yet she disregarded my instruction and failed to act in my best interest.
Additionally, she violated professional decorum by addressing me in a condescending manner, repeatedly calling me “Oh honey.” When I asserted that this was inappropriate and asked her to stop, she dismissed my request, stating that she could “do whatever she wanted.” This disregard for professional boundaries and trauma-informed advocacy further demonstrates her failure to provide a safe and supportive legal experience.
Angie Trout does not uphold the ethical standards expected of an attorney. She operates more as a salesperson than a legal advocate, portraying herself as powerful and influential while failing to provide meaningful legal assistance. If you are seeking an attorney who prioritizes client advocacy, ethical representation, and trauma-informed legal support, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
