If I could give 0 stars then I would. Unfortunately, I has to give 1 so I could leave a review. Joe Koncilja was recommend by numerous people (unsure why) and most reviews were good. We saw Joe twice. The first time was the consult. He said my son’s case wasn’t one he usually deals with because he said most of the cases are much worse and his clients faced much worse charges. He said he could help though. So we hired him. We saw him the next AND last time for ONE hearing. My son’s case was passed onto Melissa. She seemed caring throughout the process but that all changed once the case closed. She came up with some crap plea deal but was VERY convincing so my son took it becuse we trusted her. She assured us the charges would be dismissed and his file would be suppressed and he would have no issues finding another job but to call her if ran into any, well he has. We even have a letter from the PCSO stating there WAS misconduct on their part. Deputy Minor used excessive force, chocked my son until he was unconscious, ALL on body cam footage. The footage also CLEARLY shows my son did NOTHING he was initially charged with. He lost his great job as a result of the final outcome. Well he has MULTIPLE issues since then finding another good job like he had. Him and I have reached out NUMEROUS times for assistance. Melissa is always supposedly in court or unavailable and no one is able to help or that’s what we keep being told. To this day, STILL no return call. They received their money and was able to get a plea deal entered so that was clearly all they cared about. Joe may have been an amazing lawyer at one time but I wouldn’t know. The lawyers in this firm just ride on the coattails of his name. I also had the unfortunate opportunity to work with one of the ladies that I assume work for the lawyers. I can’t recall her name but she came across as extremely condescending and acted like she was above us when she met us at court. I will NEVER recommend this firm to anyone. Anytime I see a post asking for a lawyer recommendation, I will make sure to announce this is NOT the firm to use. There are definitely MUCH better firms with lawyers that actually care, I highly suggest reaching out to them.
