Our overall experience with Ruma and her legal team was extremely disappointing. As first-time home buyers, we relied heavily on our attorney to guide us through the legal process, protect our interests, and ensure that all documentation and negotiations were handled professionally and accurately. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

Throughout the transaction, there were repeated errors in the preparation of legal documents, including at least three separate instances where our names were misspelled on important paperwork. These are basic details that should be carefully reviewed by any legal professional, and seeing the same mistakes occur repeatedly raised serious concerns about the level of attention being given to our file.

Communication was another major issue. We often found ourselves having to repeatedly follow up for updates, clarification, and responses to our questions. Rather than feeling supported throughout the process, we felt as though we were constantly chasing the legal team for information.

We were also disappointed with the level of advocacy and assistance provided during negotiations and critical stages of the transaction. We expected proactive guidance, timely communication, and strong representation, but instead experienced delays, lack of follow-through, and minimal effort in addressing issues as they arose.

Ultimately, the deal fell apart, and despite not successfully closing on the property, we were still charged $1,100 in legal fees. After investing significant time, energy, and money into the process, the outcome was both frustrating and disappointing.

Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Ruma and her team. The repeated paperwork errors, poor communication, lack of responsiveness, and overall handling of our file fell well below the level of professionalism we expected from legal counsel during such an important transaction.

Ruma and her team were absolutely amazing throughout our entire home buying process! From the very beginning, they were incredibly informative, responsive, and always willing to answer any question we had. Every email was answered quickly, and they made sure we felt supported and informed every step of the way.
As first time homebuyers there were so many moving pieces, but Ruma and her team played a huge role in making the process feel seamless.

It was a very disappointing experience with Ruma as a real estate lawyer. I found her to be disrespectful and unprofessional throughout the process. Instead of prioritizing my interests as a client, it often felt like she was more focused on her own agenda and opinions. Communication and professionalism were lacking, which made an already stressful process even more difficult. I must mentioned Dena, another lawyer in the practice, was much more professional and helpful.

I'd like to see you address your shortcomings professionally rather than placing the blame on the client. Effective communication is essential in any professional relationship, and there was a clear failure in communication here.

Clients should be spoken to with professionalism and respect, so I would appreciate it if you refrain from using the kind of language you used with me.

Also, the outcome of this situation was not something I chose or wanted. It was the direction you recommended and pushed for, so it is inaccurate to say that I received the outcome I wanted from this deal.
