Kevin Martin served me excellently and respectfully in my estate planning matters. He communicates estate planning issues and trust matters in a very accessible, thorough, and clear manner. He is exceedingly bright and affable--no lawyer ego. He is focused on the client's needs, presents all options, and is very patient. ( I had changes that i made mid-stream, and he graciously and ever professionally responded to all questions that I raised rather continually throughout the process.) We completed the process in an efficient but not rushed manner. I am completely happy with the legal services and products rendered-- and in the lawyer-client relationship that we established as I can go back with questions or changed needs anytime. He is quick to respond to emails and has excellent office support. His pricing is more than reasonable and, indeed, he doesn't seek to get one to pay for more services than needed or suitable for one's individual circumstances--and Ii know many would, indeed, do. For my legal services, he remains available to me for counsel. His engagement contract, which i received once I hired him, is clear and quite helpful as well. Again, his language and communication skills cannot be overstated. He is also very quick to understand a breadth of issues and always listens intently with a laser focus and keen mind. As I am a talker, he gets one back to the planning issues at hand with a respectful and kind manner. But he listens and, by nature, is highly empathetic--but that does not at any time interfere with his legal professionalism or focus. He clearly realizes this legal area causes one to rethink plans or instructions until one is comfortable and he helps get you to that point. When it comes to end-of-life and estate matters, I find that innate empathy trait to be a most welcomed and key need. Simply stated, he is wholly client-oriented. While a long review, he merits it. A simpler version would be: "My estate planning needs were efficiantly and thoroughly settled in the manner I sought to meet my preferences and individual circumstances. I knew he was in good standing with the DC Bar, as i had looked that up and his general legal background when searching for an estate attorney. I made the right decision." I took the time to explain more so you could know more beyond a purely technical review rating his expertise highly because one needs to be able to trust and have confidence in one's legal attorney.
