Communication is definitely a problem within this firm. I know 2 of his Mr Joe Harvey’s clients personally and have witnessed multiple calls and attempts to communicate that were not answered or addressed on multiple occasions. Both of these clients, on separate occasions, were waiting for court hearings to be scheduled and Mr Harvey nor his office staff notified the client when the hearing was scheduled. Mr Harvey went to court at the appointed time but the client went to jail. They were arrested on a capias for not attending court. Mr Harvey then told the client that he was standing directly beside his secretary when she called and notified the client of said court date. Recently, I was told, by his secretary, that she mails these notices to each client, she did not say she calls the client. Regardless, the statement that she had called the client was false and eventually the client was allowed another hearing and was finally released. Mr Harvey then blamed his secretary for this error and told the court that he fired his secretary due to this error (Im not sure that she was fired). The second defendant, that he failed to notify of court date, has been in jail for 3 days and another hearing has not yet been scheduled by Mr Harvey’s office. This client remains in jail without a bond due to negligence on the attorneys end. Both clients had paid their bills completely prior to being arrested for not appearing. Mr Harvey received his full payment but did not do his job. These were 2 seperate clients with 2 seperate cases so it appears that this is a common “error” regarding his office. Mr Harvey (or any attorney) is not cheap and a substantial amount of money had already been paid with future business possible. Mr Harvey is a good trial lawyer and a beast in the court room but without communication, you as the client are not going to know anything regarding your case until 15 minutes prior to your court appearance (if you actually receive notice of said court hearing). When the first client complained about the inability to converse with his attorney or communicate with the office, Mr Harvey didn’t appear to understand or like the fact the client was upset, but offered to remove himself from the case right before sentencing. How does an attorney not notify his client of a court date, which is an automatic warrant issue and the client goes to jail, then he takes his time in contacting the court to schedule a new hearing, and then threatens to quit instead of apologize. Are there any attorneys available that care about their actual client and not just the money that client is paying them. I know it costs a lot of money to go to law school but can he not care about his client enough to do his job proficiently?
