Honest review here as a client of roughly 5 years.

Alan Gassman handled the preparation of my estate and protecting my multiple different businesses.

I was quote $12k to put together my estate and protect my assets through different LLCs in multiple states. It ended up being over $20k. I stomached it because he came highly recommended and I figured it was a “one time investment” that was worth it.

I continued being his client for years. Never real understanding anything about my situation and what was prepared.

Gassman was very short of patience and made thins extremely confusing for me (in my opinion ) and it resulted in just more billing because he never misses a moment to
Bill you for his time. I ultimately avoided asking ANY questions and would never follow up and just allowed them to handling filing my LLCS anual reports ( there were several so it was a couple grand. Nothing crazy ). I became a client that avoided him so that I didnt keep
Getting billed.

I pretty much dealt with it because I figured he knew what he was doing and I just HOPED it was done right.
After years of paying tens of thousands of dollars, I was actually fired as a client a couple months ago because I let a $566 bill go overdue. Literally. $566 after spending somewhere between $30-40k with him.
They threaten to take me to collection in an email over the $566. I paid the SAME DAY and they fired me.
Granted. In their defense, I’d let their billing rack up for several months at a time and then pay it all at once. But I always paid. And never made excuses. I work with several attorneys and they just bill , put it in an invoice , add new billing, and every several months I will pay off the balance. It’s not uncommon.

I feel like he didn’t want my business because I didn’t give him enough business , basically.

I have never been treated with such a complete lack of humanity.

I arrived with my baby daughter, who was having what appeared to be an allergic reaction. She had been crying uncontrollably the entire drive, was bright red, and I was terrified. Because of the stress and urgency, I missed the entrance to the urgent care parking lot and had to pull into the next available lot, which happened to belong to this law firm. The parking lot was completely empty.

As I rushed my crying child toward the urgent care center, an employee from this office came outside and started yelling at me to move my car immediately. I explained that my daughter was experiencing a medical emergency and that I needed to get her into the clinic as quickly as possible. Instead of showing even the smallest amount of compassion, she told me she would call a tow truck unless I moved my vehicle.

Legally, perhaps they were within their rights. Morally and ethically, this was one of the most heartless interactions I have ever experienced. When a frightened mother is carrying a sick child into an urgent care facility, basic human decency should come before an empty parking space.

A law firm should understand that there is a difference between enforcing rules and completely abandoning compassion. Today, they chose the latter.

I sincerely hope no other parent in the middle of a medical emergency has to experience the same shocking lack of empathy from this business.
