I originally gave Amber a 5-star review, but after everything that has happened, I am changing my review to 1 star. I hired Amber because I trusted her to properly review my driving record and handle my case accordingly. Unfortunately, I later discovered that a plea was entered that I had already used. Had my driving history been properly reviewed beforehand, I would not have ended up in the situation I am in now. The consequences have been significant. The original ticket was less than $100. Instead of simply paying that ticket, I paid an attorney fee and ultimately had to pay nearly $500 to the NJ DMV because of the additional points on my license. In other words, I spent substantially more money hiring an attorney than I would have if I had simply handled the original ticket myself. I personally contacted the NJ DMV to find out why these additional points appeared on my record, and I was told that the issue stemmed from how the plea was handled. That was incredibly frustrating to hear after paying an attorney specifically to handle this matter for me. What has been even more disappointing is Amber's lack of communication since the case was completed. Getting a response to phone calls and emails has been nearly impossible. We ultimately had to call from my father's phone because she did not recognize the number, and that was how we finally managed to get her on the phone. When we finally reached her, instead of feeling that she was taking responsibility and helping resolve the problem, we were asked for additional money to address the situation I believe resulted from the handling of my original case. I understand that no attorney can guarantee a particular outcome. That is not my complaint. My issue is that I expected my driving record to be reviewed carefully, my prior plea history to be considered, and my questions and concerns to be addressed after the case was completed. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I work extremely hard for my money, and this experience has left me feeling incredibly frustrated, disappointed, and taken advantage of. I hired an attorney because I believed doing so would protect me from exactly this type of situation—not leave me in a worse financial and legal position than I would have been in had I handled the ticket myself. I would absolutely not hire Amber again based on my experience. If you are considering hiring her, I strongly recommend that you do your own due diligence, review your driving history carefully, understand exactly what plea is being entered, and make sure you fully understand the potential consequences before moving forward. This experience cost me time, money, and a great deal of unnecessary stress. I genuinely wish I had never hired her.
