I worked with Elliot through a contested divorce and custody case, and I can say he's genuinely great at what he does. He's sharp, steady, and clearly knows family law inside and out — every time I needed him on something substantive, he delivered and made me feel like I was in good hands.

I kept him on all the way through mediation. When my case eventually went to court and going through litigation, I personally needed someone I could reach almost any time, more for my own sanity than anything else, and Elliot runs a busy practice. That was about my needs in that specific phase, not about his skill — he never dropped the ball on anything that mattered.

In a high conflict custody battle with an unreasonable ex, I felt defeated every day I’d get 20 messages from my ex about how horrible of a person I was. I was scared I’d lose custody despite knowing I follow the court orders and did not put my child in harms way. My ex’s ability to accuse me of what they were doing blew my mind. The kind of trauma i experienced was something I couldn’t even imagine or understand someone would feel or someone would want to make another feel. I needed help and fast!

Mr. Green ensured that my previous review was removed, even though it had a significant amount of engagement and support from others. Because of that, I had to rewrite it carefully to make sure it follows all guidelines.

Over the last three years I have noticed that negative reviews about Mr. Green on Google seem to disappear. For that reason, it may be helpful to look at other review platforms, such as Yelp, to get a broader sense of other people’s experiences.

In my experience, he has been very disorganized. Not sure is that on purpose. Paperwork was sometimes submitted on the day of the conference, if it was submitted at all, which contributed to delays and adjournments. In New York, that can mean waiting another five or six months, if not longer, to appear before the judge again. I also found his email communication unprofessional, especially for someone with a doctoral degree. It was poorly worded and lacked professionalism.

Overall, I do not think he is necessarily a bad lawyer. His fees appear to be among the lower end of the market in New York, which likely attracts a high volume of cases. Based on publicly available court records, he appears to handle a substantial caseload. In my experience, that lower cost and heavier caseload seemed to come at the expense of time, attention, and progress, resulting in delays, frustration, and increased legal expenses.

I recommend Elliot Green to prospective Family Law clients without reservation. Elliot is well known and respected in the Kings County (and all NY) Courts for his skill and professionalism. He will not waste time, energy or money on anything that fails to move the case forward expeditiously, and in your favor. He is efficient, responsive and seems to handle stressful situations with elan.

Elliot is my first male attorney in my six year Family Court journey, mainly because I did not believe a man could advocate my position as passionately as another woman could; I was wrong in the case of Elliot Green.

Elliot is a most zealous advocate for the child's best interest, and he will go the extra mile for you and your children. He will not let you make stupid mistakes focusing on stuff that doesn't matter to the judge.
