A few years ago, I struggled with addiction and was facing charges. I hired Amber Lucsay, which was a catastrophic mistake, which reverberates today in the form of PTSD from the experience. The fact that she advertises herself as an LGBT legal advocate is beyond insulting, reaching nauseating. Due to my LGBT status, I was placed in horrific conditions in prolonged solitary confinement in jail. Fun fact: you cannot actually call this law firm from within the jail due to their use of an incompatible phone tree. So, stuck in subhuman conditions, I could not even make phone contact with the lawyer I was paying thousands of dollars to represent me. Amber did not visit the jail to make contact with me. She canceled hearings or pushed them back, without notifying me or even walking one building over to discuss anything about the case. She filed frivolous motions that were later reversed as soon as I obtained a lawyer through Office of the public defender instead (ended up being FANTASTIC). Her public social media at the time I was being held in solitary confinement, with no ability to contact her due to their poor decision making in setting up their phone system, she gleefully announces that she is at knitting camp instead. When I finally got an initial appearance, I made phone contact with her immediately prior, at which time she informed me she was on vacation. I would surmise this was knitting camp as well. After a panicked call begging her to show up so I may at least make it to a more humane part of the jail, she appeared via Zoom without seeming to understand what case she was representing. The mere fact that you are LGBT yourself does not make you an LGBT advocate. Your actions do. And hers were horrific to the level of unethical and deserving of legal discipline.

We engaged Eastbridge Law Firm in Madison expecting clear communication, timely follow-through, and proactive support throughout our legal matter. Unfortunately, our experience fell well short of those expectations in spite of our communications regarding these issues over several years. While initial conversations were positive, there was a consistent lack of follow-through on commitments, delayed responses to inquiries, and a general lack of communication regarding next steps. We often found ourselves having to repeatedly follow up for updates and clarification. These delays also impacted our case. Legal matters can be stressful, and clients rely on their attorneys to provide guidance, responsiveness, and accountability. Unfortunately, those qualities were not demonstrated or addressed despite repeated communications regarding our frustrations. We respect that every case presents unique challenges, but based on our experience, we would have appreciated more timely communication, greater attention to detail, and stronger client service.
