Great guy really helped me out

David Phillips is the absolute worst lawyer I have ever used! I contacted him to settle my divorce: 1. he lied to me 2.made excuses for his lack of response and communication for months 3. doesn’t know the law, there is marital support in IN if you are disabled 4. waited to prepare for court/ trial until the night before the event 5. was late to court the next morning because he sent me a finalization chart to review at 11pm, which was all wrong, so he had to fix it before court in the morning 6. was unprepared in court, I had to provide my copies that I brought to the court 7. Didn’t call witnesses, inspector was already paid and prepared but he was never called 8. Claimed his ill performance was because of low blood sugar but what he really needed was a cigarette break during the trial 9. Sent an email 5 days after my divorce was final with the divorce degree and said sorry that didn’t go as I thought it would, you have 30 days to appeal, don’t contact me again! He then never responded to another email/text or phone call since. Beyond incomprehensible! I have found a new lawyer to make my appeal and a lawyer to sue him for legal malpractice. Oh one more thing I found out after all this was over my ex wanted mediation and I continuously requested that from my lawyer as well but instead it went to trial for more money.

Extremely unprofessional experience. This attorney has been completely unresponsive for many months. Despite paying a significant retainer, there has been zero progress on my case. He consistently ignores emails and fails to show up for scheduled phone consultations.
It is impossible to get a status update or any information regarding my legal matter. He takes your money and then disappears. I’ve had to terminate his services due to total lack of communication and professional neglect. Save your money and find an attorney who actually respects their clients and does the work they were hired to do."
