If I could do negative stars I would! My divorce was a joke! It was in 2021 right after COVID. I wasn't given proper guidance really for anything. Patrick was nice but didn't guide me in what to prepare for and wasn't given the opposing party's documents to review before going in front of the judge. They allowed my ex to continue to drag things out and go back and forth which cost me between $10,000 and $15, 000. There must have been about 5 or 6 paralegals involved and no-one was sharing information about my case to each other so I was always having to repeat myself. They allowed the other party's attorney to badger me about a job I wasn't qualified for. Bottom line is, I got screwed in court and now I am having to pay another attorney to amend a handful go things on my final divorce decree and we are fighting for quadruple the amount of Child support that I was awarded. My current attorney apologized that I had a horrible experience with the system. The divorce court and system is built for attorneys. You shouldn't have to feel like you fought for yourself on your own and then get screwed. I patiently waited almost 5 years to be able to afford hiring another attorney to go fix things. The final orders also weren't concise in some of our issues that were drug out for weeks and my ex wouldn't agree to the holiday schedule for example and since he was dragging it out and causing me to have to spend extra money, he should have been ordered to pay my attorney fees as well! With that said I highly DO NOT recommend Burnham Law for divorce cases! I feel cheated.
