I would never recommend Krista Nash as a Child's Legal Representative. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO THE REPLY - the magistrate review that was entered was fully in my favor. It said things that I had been begging people to pay attention to. It was 12 pages of validation. The argument does not stand that I am posting a bad review because I did not like what Nash said. I am posting an honest review because I want people to know that despite it being in favor, it was either entered with her knowing that it would not be accepted or taken into account by the District Court, so that she could bill for the hours, or she didn't know - both of these are problematic. It was not me who said it was entered incorrectly and therefore was rendered useless. It was the District Court Judge. Further, anyone can say - Thank you - To someone who wields power over their child. It's called fawning and it's a natural response out of fear. Onwards with the review.... Everything I write here is based on filings in my own case, billing records, recordings, and my personal experience. I also know multiple other Boulder County parents who have described the same pattern of behaviour. One of my biggest concerns was that Ms. Nash billed thousands of dollars preparing a Magistrate Review that could never even be considered by the District Court because it was filed incorrectly. That same review correctly explained why reunification therapy in my case would violate Kayden's Law.Then, almost unbelievably, she recommended what she called "family systems therapy" with Dr. Lynn Steinberg. The same Dr. Steinberg whose work has become nationally known through the Maya and Sebastian case, whose own website advertises: **"One Family at a Time Reunification Program – A four-day program with the goal of reunifying children with their Alienated Parent."** Calling it "family systems therapy" didn't change what it was.Ms. Nash also recommended that my only parenting time be supervised visits costing between **$300 and $420 every week**. At exactly the same time, she was telling the court that the previous order removing my son from my care should effectively be **100% reversed** because current law and my son's best interests supported him returning to me - If a child should be returned to a parent immediately, why recommend parenting time that is so financially prohibitive it effectively terminates that parent's relationship with their child? My Magistrate Review resulted in the case being partially remanded because there were insufficient best-interest findings supporting my son's relocation and **no findings** supporting the effective reduction of my parenting time through financially impossible supervision costs. Those are matters of public record.The billing also raised serious concerns. Bills were re-issued after significant edits. There were vague entries amounting to thousands of dollars, duplicate billing, and recommendations that seemed internally contradictory. I have since heard almost identical experiences from numerous other parents in Boulder. The consistent theme is that Ms. Nash appears to tell each side what they want to hear while the litigation continues month after month, leaving children caught in the middle.Perhaps the most upsetting part was my son repeatedly reaching out to her while he was in genuine distress, telling him that she thought the father was the parental alienator, not me, but giving contrary advice to the court. My experience was that she often told him one thing, told me something completely different, and then billed for every interaction. I have evidence supporting everything I have written here. Parents deserve to know what they may be walking into before placing their child's future in the hands of someone who is supposed to represent only the child's best interests when they are playing a dangerous game of playing both sides in order to bill clients the maximum possible.

Children First Family Law truly saved my son and I during a high conflict, nightmare divorce. Lauren Engle was there for me every step of the way, taking care of things in the background that I never would have thought of. She really pulled out all the stops to help get us through this, and the outcome of the final divorce was truly fantastic thanks to all of her proactive, hard work on the case. Lauren (Engle) was an incredible resource and extremely kind. I followed her when she moved to Children First. She was very honest with me in the beginning that my case could go either way and to not have high expectations, but that she thought it was worth pursuing. She helped me understand how different choices might affect my case, but made it clear that in the end I was in control of how we did things, which was really important to me considering how low the opposing client was willing to go. I never felt decieved or pressured in any way. I highly recommend Lauren and am very glad I got matched with her.
