I previously left a 5-star review for Aviso Law, but after continuing representation and reviewing both the outcome of our case and the actual billing, I need to correct that. This firm did not just fall short—they cost us something that directly impacts our children and our daily lives. During the school choice hearing, which determines where our children go to school and affects their stability long-term, we were represented by Brandon, and there was a complete lack of strategy, preparation, and follow-through. We were never given a clear plan going into the hearing, never walked through how our case would be presented, and never positioned in a way that gave us any advantage. The hearing itself felt passive, and the resulting order reflects serious gaps in how the case was handled.

What makes this worse is what happened afterward—nothing. There was no phone call, no follow-up, no explanation of the outcome, and no accountability. We were left to figure out a life-impacting decision on our own after paying thousands of dollars for representation.

Financially, this was not a small investment. We paid a $4,000 retainer up front and continued making payments over time, including $3,000 payments and multiple additional deposits, totaling well into the thousands. On top of that, the school choice hearing alone cost approximately $2,679, including charges for travel time, attending the hearing, and preparation. We were also billed nearly $1,000 on other matters involving Brandon, including drafting and internal communications.

When reviewing the invoices, the pattern is clear—constant 0.1 and 0.2 hour charges for emails, internal communication, and document review, but none of that translated into meaningful advocacy or results. We were billed for things like “setting up calls,” “following up,” and “reviewing emails,” yet when it mattered most, there was no strategy, no control of the case, and no real effort to win.

Brandon, specifically, did not demonstrate preparation, ownership, or urgency in a case involving our children. That is unacceptable. Cory is professional and responsive, but responsiveness alone is not what you pay thousands of dollars for—you are paying for strategy and results.

At the end of the day, we spent a significant amount of money and were left with an outcome that changed our lives, without feeling like our case was ever truly fought for. This was a high-cost experience with real consequences, and that is not something any family should have to go through.

I previously left a 5-star review based on our experience with Cory Tuck and his paralegal, Kristie, and I still stand by that completely. Cory was professional, prepared, calm in court, and clearly understood the details of our case. Kristie was communicative, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the process.

However, I am updating my review based on our experience with another attorney at the firm, Brandon.

Our experience with Brandon was extremely disappointing and costly. After the December 2025 hearing, there was absolutely no communication—no phone call, no follow-up, and no explanation of the court’s order. We simply received an email attaching the order with no guidance, followed by a bill. That was the entirety of the post-hearing communication.

We were not advised on key requirements in that order, specifically that both parties were required to complete a Level II parenting class within 60 days. As our attorney, it was his responsibility to ensure we understood and complied. That did not happen.

Overall, communication was minimal, and it felt like our case was not being prioritized. There was no proactive guidance, no meaningful follow-up after a major hearing, and a lack of attention to critical details that directly impacted our case.

We were also required to pay multiple retainers for separate matters, including a $3,000 retainer for a school-related issue. Despite the significant cost, we completed much of the work ourselves, and the level of service did not reflect the fees charged. Documents contained errors, and Brandon appeared unprepared.

Ultimately, Brandon withdrew from representation after an unfavorable outcome, leaving us having spent thousands of dollars without the level of advocacy or support we expected.

This experience was a complete contrast to what we had with Cory Tuck.

If you are considering this firm, I strongly recommend requesting Cory specifically. Based on our experience, attorney quality within this firm varies significantly, and that can directly affect your case.

I am sharing this to provide transparency so others can make an informed decision.
