Fast forward to January 2026, I am served with papers stating my ex-husband who lives out of state is suing me for full custody of my children. I reached out to Eleni and asked her what the next steps were and she told me that neither she nor Ambler law could assist me with this. The email she sent made it clear that she didn't actually read the documents that I sent over, specifically regarding child custody and that it couldn’t be decided in a different state than where the children primarily lived. She told us to get representation in the state in which my ex-husband lives and stated they couldn’t do anything because of the out of state filing. I wanted another opinion, so I reached out to Martin for verification and, honestly, to ease my worries since Eleni had steered me wrong in the past. A few minutes later, in response to the email I had sent Martin, I received an email from Ambler’s Supervising attorney, Lawrence Vance, with a formal letter stating that our attorney/client relationship was terminated immediately. The letter stated that I questioned the competency of one of their "esteemed colleagues" (which apparently is grounds for immediate termination). Mr. Vance made zero inquiries into why I felt the way I did, nor did he do any research into the situation whatsoever. Imagine a business owner not accepting feedback from their customers who are letting you know that something is very, very wrong.
The split did lead us to our current lawyer (for whom we are grateful and believe we are in MUCH better hands) but, at the time, it felt like being abandoned at the most stressful time in my life. The way this was handled was beyond unprofessional and a huge disappointment. So, unless you want to retain one lawyer, be pushed off onto another one and then be told that you are the problem for having questions because of past experiences, I would look elsewhere for family law representation
