Hiring Attorney Susan Albertoni was the single worst decision I’ve made in my legal journey. I paid her $6,000 in attorney fees for absolutely nothing of value. Most of my charges came from her “reviewing” my case and sending endless clarifying questions — not to strategize or move things forward, but simply to burn through my retainer. She claimed $5,000 of my bill was for “reading” my case, yet when court day came, she still asked me to remind her of the details. She was an hour late to court without even notifying me, leaving me sitting there wondering if she would show up at all. Before the hearing, she spoke privately with the opposing side in the hallway and then told me there was nothing she could do for me because I “had kids by the wrong guy.” If she truly felt that way, she should have told me during the consultation before taking my money. In court, she was ready to simply let my case pass without a fight — I had to speak up myself to get a contested hearing granted. This attorney was passive, unprepared, and far too agreeable to the other side. There was no action plan, no advocacy, and no return on my investment. When I wrote her a dispute letter requesting a partial refund, she refused, saying she would not credit me because the charges were for “reading” my file. This is unacceptable conduct for any legal professional. If you value your time, money, and your case, avoid Susan Albertoni at all costs. This attorney needs to retire.
