Do not recommend. Represented me for a year and a half, because I thought I wouldn't find anyone better, and in that time, I felt pressured to agree to things I was strongly against, was told I wouldn't get anything I wanted or needed to protect and secure mine and my child's future. Even with police reports, DCFS, etc. involved I was told I need to just deal with the opposing party getting what they wanted and to pay up. Communication with Eric Miskell was none existent, I seemed to be more of a nuisance for him than a client and any conversation with him directly, which was rare, felt like he needed to just get me off the phone or out of the office. Spend the extra money and find a more competent lawyer outside of Lasalle County. The only good thing here was the paralegal Melanie, she seemed to actually care and try, which is more than I can say for Eric.

He's direct and to the point and isn't going to tell you things he can't make happen. If you want someone who will fight for what's fair for you, hire Eric Miskell.

I retained Eric Miskell for a contested divorce. I was pressured to accept a settlement I did not agree with, and my questions about its long-term consequences were ignored.

During a scheduled meeting, I was told to leave and that law enforcement would be contacted if I did not. Because the situation escalated, I contacted 911. Shortly afterward, the firm filed to withdraw, leaving me unrepresented in active litigation.

This combination of coercion, lack of engagement, and abrupt withdrawal created significant legal risk. I cannot recommend this firm for anyone who needs diligent, client-focused representation.
