Wool Landon®

I contacted Wool Landon to inquire if I could hire them for a paid consultation (1 hour was what I usually was offered) to ask general probate process questions and some more specific estate questions related to an executed will and trust. The screener interviewed me thoroughly as I explained the situation and what information/service I was seeking. She scheduled my appointment after the mandatory check for any conflicts of interest. I paid the $850 fee/deposit and waited a couple weeks for my appointment. I dropped off requested documents as well as my intended questions a few days before appointment. The day before appointment, I was informed there was a conflict of interest and appointment would be cancelled. They did of course refund my deposit as promptly as able when I queried about it. I expressed my disappointment at the short notice situation and was given a referral to another firm. I made an appointment with THAT referral, again waited weeks, uploaded lengthy docs, sent my short list of 4 questions. THAT appointment was atrocious but that's a different review (no questions answered). The icing on the cake was the $1700 invoice I received for THAT "consultation". Two more paid referrals later, I eventually did get my questions answered, but the point of this review is lack of professionalism. Major time wasting and then a crazy referral to even less professional character...all within the realm of "estates" and the time immediately following the death of a loved one. Anyone with a law degree can handle paperwork and court proceedings. We all expect legal representation to be an investment of some kind, even just for informational purposes. Should we seek some level of compassion and decency though? As a lifelong unpaid advocate for others, my advice is YES.

I found Wool Landon through a very trusted source I have. When my father was alive and well, he taught me so much. When my father passed away, I couldn't sleep at night worrying about if anything happened to me; I wanted to protect my husband and daughter. When you are dealing with such a tremendous loss of a loved one, it can be quite difficult to have to worry about anything else. I wanted things to be easy for my family when I pass.
