I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Wilner & O’Reilly. I trusted this firm with my father immigration case and paid $3,500 across two stages of representation. I initially hired attorney Danny and case manager Karin in 2024 for my father I-130 petition paying $2,500. After approval, I signed another $2,500 agreement in July 2026 for NVC processing and paid a $1,000 deposit. By August 16, I had submitted the requested DS-260 information, supporting documents, and financial records. However, weeks passed without meaningful updates or confirmation of completed submissions. On multiple occasions, I waited nearly two weeks or longer for email responses despite the firm agreement referencing a 24-hour response policy based on business days. Another major concern involved my mailing address. I provided my updated address approximately a year before my father I-130 approval yet USCIS mailed the official approval notice to my previous address. When I questioned this, the response focused on how the approval notice was unnecessary rather than addressing my actual concern about the outdated address. I ultimately contacted USCIS myself. Due to these concerns, I terminated representation and requested a refund of unearned fees, my father complete case file, and a detailed itemized accounting of services performed. The firm retained $500 of my $1,000 deposit and refunded the remaining $500. Their letter specifically stated that an accounting of the time spent on my case was enclosed. However, I received only two letters including a general account statement showing the contract amount, payment, and credits. There were no dates of services, hours worked, hourly rates, or explanation of how the retained $500 was earned. I have never expected attorneys to work for free. My concern is being charged for services without receiving documentation explaining what work was performed to justify those charges. A zero-balance statement is not an itemized accounting of legal services. I encourage prospective clients to carefully review their agreements, document all communications, and understand how fees are calculated if representation ends early. I have attached the firm refund letter and account statement for transparency. Their letter states that an accounting was enclosed yet the statement I received provides no breakdown of the services performed or how the $500 retained was calculated. Paying clients deserve transparency and accountability.
