Update after posting and seeing Wayne’s…response lol. Mr. Stambaugh, I am not a 'troll business' or a solicitation service. I am the specific client who paid you a $4,000 retainer for a family law matter that concluded in January 2025. I have the signed engagement letter, the billing statements I had to fight for months to receive, and the final check for the unearned retainer which you only returned a year later in January 2026. Claiming you cannot confirm my identity only reinforces the lack of professional discipline and poor record-keeping I highlighted in my initial review. My records are fully available for verification by the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility should you continue to dispute the facts of my experience.

Back to the review:
Personal Opinion and Experience: I hired Wayne Stambaugh based on his claims of being a 'premium' choice, but my experience was professionally disappointing. I paid a $4,000 retainer, and the service I received lacked basic professional discipline. My case involved family law.

1. Accounting Delays: My case concluded in January 2025. It took almost two months of persistent follow-up just to receive a basic billing statement.

2. Withholding Funds: As of January 2026, over a year later, the unearned portion of my retainer was finally returned only after extensive effort and escalation on my part. Upon returning the funds, the attorney indicated he would not represent me again; given the mismanagement of my account, I find this statement redundant and slightly funny. You wouldn’t have been hired again anyway bud, don’t worry!

3. Communication Failure: Multiple emails went unacknowledged. On the rare occasions we spoke, promises were made to 'look at the account' that were not kept without repeated inquiries. His stated reasoning for the lack of communication within 5 business days was that "the holidays just happened" and "everyone’s got problems."

4. Court Performance: During our court appearance, the attorney made assertions to the judge regarding a conversation with a third party that took place the day prior. To my knowledge, that person was not at the court or available; this fumbling of facts negatively impacted the credibility of the proceedings.

In my opinion, this firm lacks the discipline required to manage client funds and communication. I have almost had to escalate this matter to the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility to seek a resolution. Prospective clients should be extremely cautious about placing a large retainer with this office. I maintain all voice recordings and paperwork should verification of this transaction be required
